High School Day at Ilocos Sur National High School (ISNHS) is a vibrant Foundation Day celebration featuring, for 2026, themed field demonstrations inspired by animated films like Toy Story and Moana. Students from Grades 7–11 participate, strengthening cooperation through choreographed performances and eco-friendly props, typically occurring in March.

This special event highlights the creativity, teamwork, and school spirit of the students. Each grade level prepares colorful performances that combine dancing, formations, and storytelling based on their chosen theme. Weeks before the celebration, students spend time practicing their routines, designing costumes, and preparing props that match their concept. Through these preparations, they learn the value of discipline, cooperation, and responsibility.

The Last Quarter, The Last Memories

 

The fourth quarter of the school year is probably the most exhausting time for students. Deadlines are everywhere, projects keep coming, and everyone is trying their best to finish strong. There were days when we felt very tired and stressed, but somehow, we still managed to laugh, help each other, and enjoy the little moments in between. Even with all the pressure, this last quarter became one of the most memorable parts of the school year.

What made it special was not just the activities or the lessons, but the people inside the classroom. Every day was filled with conversations, jokes, and shared struggles. Sometimes we would complain about how tired we were, yet we still showed up, still participated, and still created memories together. It was exhausting, but it was also fun in a way that made everything worth it.

As the days passed, we slowly realized that everything was coming to an end. The classroom that once felt ordinary suddenly became more meaningful. The chairs, the desks, the noise, and even the simple moments of laughter started to feel more important because we knew that soon, things would change.

It is a little sad to think that the same room will never be the same again without us. The memories we created there will stay with us, but the moments themselves will never happen the same way again. Still, instead of only feeling sad, we can choose to be grateful—for the friendships, the lessons, and the memories that made this last quarter both exhausting and unforgettable.

Looking back, this quarter taught us more than just academic lessons. It showed us how to stay strong even when we are tired, how to support each other during stressful times, and how to appreciate the people around us. Through group works, presentations, and simple everyday conversations, we learned that school is not only about studying but also about growing together.

As we move forward to the next chapter of our lives, the memories from this classroom will always stay with us. The laughter, the struggles, and the moments we shared will become stories we will remember in the future. Even though the room may no longer be the same without us, the experiences we had inside it will always be a part of who we are

Every March, many countries celebrate National Women’s Month to recognize the important role of women in society. It is a time to appreciate the achievements, sacrifices, and contributions of women in different fields such as education, healthcare, business, leadership, and family life. This celebration reminds us that women have continuously worked hard to break barriers and prove that they are capable of making positive changes in the world.

The celebration of Women’s Month is also connected to International Women’s Day, which highlights the importance of gender equality and women’s empowerment. Through programs, activities, and discussions, people are reminded that women deserve equal rights, opportunities, and respect. Schools, communities, and organizations often hold events such as seminars, campaigns, and simple gatherings to show support for women.

Dreaming of a Bright and Peaceful Future

Everyone has dreams that guide them toward the future they want to achieve. For me, my biggest dream is to become a nurse someday. I want to work in a hospital where I can help people who are sick and in need of care. Being a nurse is not only about having a job, but also about having the opportunity to serve others with compassion, patience, and dedication.

My dream of becoming a nurse also comes from my desire to make a difference in people’s lives. Nurses play an important role in taking care of patients and assisting doctors in saving lives. They comfort patients who feel scared or weak and give hope to families during hard times. I know that becoming a nurse will require many years of studying and training, but I am willing to work hard and stay determined so I can achieve this goal.

Another reason why I want to pursue this dream is because I want to become financially stable in the future. I want to have a good career that will allow me to support myself and help my family. Being financially stable will help me provide for our needs and live a comfortable life. It will also allow me to give back to the people who supported me throughout my journey.

Aside from my career goals, I also dream of having a peaceful life someday. I want to live a life where I feel content, safe, and grateful for what I have achieved. I hope to have a home where I can rest after a long day of work and spend time with the people I love. A peaceful life means having balance between work, family, and personal happiness.

In the future, I also hope to build a happy and loving family. I want to create a home filled with love, understanding, and support. Having a strong family will give me motivation to continue working hard and pursuing my goals. I believe that success is not only measured by career achievements but also by the happiness we share with the people we love.

Even though my dreams may take time to achieve, I believe that with determination, patience, and faith, they will come true. Every step I take in my studies brings me closer to the future I imagine. My dream of becoming a nurse is not just for myself but also for my family and the people I hope to help someday. My dream, my future, is something I will continue to work for until it becomes a reality.

Every year, Valentine’s Day becomes a special moment in school where students express their love and appreciation to the people who matter to them. Aside from giving flowers to their special someone, many students also take the opportunity to show gratitude to their teachers. Intayon Ilocos Sur Festival

 

The Intayon Ilocos Sur Festival is one of the celebrations that highlight the culture, heritage, and tourism of Ilocos Sur. The word “Intayon” comes from the Ilocano language which means “Let’s go”, inviting both locals and visitors to explore the beauty, traditions, and experiences that the province has to offer. Through this festival, the local government encourages people to appreciate the rich identity of Ilocanos and the different attractions found in the province.

During the festival, different activities are organized to promote the culture and tourism of the province. These activities may include parades, cultural presentations, trade fairs, and tourism events that showcase local products, delicacies, and traditions. Many municipalities also participate by presenting their unique heritage and specialties, which helps promote local businesses and communities.

During the celebration of the Ilocos Sur Festival in Vigan City, several well-known Filipino artists came to entertain the crowd and make the event even more memorable. Among the performers were Arthur Nery, Adie, Fitterkarma, Yeng Constantino, and Earl Agustin. The event not only celebrates physical beauty but also promotes Ilocano culture and pride. In the 2026 edition, representatives from different towns competed, and the title of Miss Ilocos Sur was won by Nathalie Clarin from Narvacan, together with other queens and runners-up who completed the court. The pageant continues to be an important part of the festival because it highlights the grace and empowerment of Ilocano women while celebrating the province’s culture and traditions.
